Authorities Expose Hayk Marutyan's Plans: 'Zhoghovurd'

'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports that the relations between Yerevan's mayor and the ruling elite are increasingly tense. On February 9, the Yerevan City Council will hold its next session, during which one of the agenda items involves amending a previous decision concerning structural changes.

Interestingly, these projects have already received a negative conclusion from the City Council's principal commission on financial issues, which is primarily composed of members from the ruling 'My Step' faction. Specifically, according to 'Zhoghovurd', members of this commission rejected those projects and issued a negative conclusion during their last meeting.

So what did this amendment entail? Our sources indicate that the project brought forth by the head of the Yerevan mayor's staff was aimed at introducing structural changes and adding new positions, but has now met with disapproval.

'Zhoghovurd' had previously reported that Hayk Marutyan is trying to strengthen his position through the heads of administrative districts and is seeking new allies. However, it seems that the authorities have uncovered these intentions and have begun to create problems for the actor-mayor right within his workplace: the municipality. His relations with the City Council's 'My Step' members have also soured.
