Former MP Appointed to High Position at SRS; Sought Help from Anna Hakobyan's Brother

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that former MP from the "My Step" faction, Yerjanik Hakobyan, has been appointed to a high position at the State Revenue Committee (SRS). He is now the head of the Internal Security Department of the SRS.

This department was established in 2014 and serves as the authority responsible for oversight within the structure, handling many issues through its mechanism. It is noteworthy that before becoming an MP, from June to November 2018, Yerjanik Hakobyan served as the deputy head of the Internal Security Department of the SRS and then as the head of the department.

During his time in parliament, it seems that Yerjanik Hakobyan realized that working at the SRS was more suitable and profitable for him and decided to do everything to return to that position. We have learned that in the meantime, he tried to find intermediaries to reinstate him in that position but was unsuccessful.

Hakobyan reached out to MP Hakob Simidyan and even to Anna Hakobyan’s brother but did not succeed. Ultimately, he managed to find an intermediary, and MP Haik Sargsyan helped him in this matter.

Additionally, Yerjanik Hakobyan was elected as an MP from constituency No. 1 (Nor Nork, Avan, Kanaker-Zeytun) and during the campaign, he stated that citizens should vote for him to be happy. However, it seems he failed to deliver on that promise regarding happiness. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to bring happiness to the representatives of the state apparatus at SRS.
