My Step MP Declares It Doesn't Matter Whose Historical Land It Is and Who Started the War
My Step MP Anush Beghloyan made a number of anti-Armenian statements during an online conference of the 'Border Zone' project, attended by representatives from Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, equating Azerbaijan, which started the war, caused over 5,000 casualties, and occupied 80 percent of Artsakh, with Armenia.
“We must look forward and not return to endless discussions about who was the first and whose historical land it is, because, as you know, Armenians have no equal in referring to historical sources and writers. Both sides have been engaged in this for 30 years, and it has led us to war,” she said.
Regarding Russian peacekeepers, the member of Nikol Pashinyan's team states, “It is important to acknowledge the fact that they are already here. Whatever brought them here, we cannot change the reality. And since they are already here and will remain for the next five years, we must use that time to ensure safe living conditions for Armenians and Azerbaijanis in Nagorno-Karabakh, should they wish to return. Depending on those efforts, we will either see foreign soldiers with us for another five years or have peace in the region.”
In the presence of adversaries, Beghloyan spoke about the 'revanchist' and nationalistic statements heard in Armenia, stating, “Armenia is a democratic country, and we have various political groups, including nationalist ones. But I urge everyone to listen only to what the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the National Assembly, the ruling party, and the Prime Minister's institution say, which have clearly stated that revanchism or military actions aimed at retribution are unacceptable for Armenia.”
