It Is Known When the Cleanup of the Shoreline Areas of Lake Sevan Will Begin

Last year, based on the review of documents, the Ministry of Environment ceased payments to the contractor company engaged in the cleanup of submerged areas along Lake Sevan and sent the documents to the prosecutor's office. Currently, work is underway on a draft decision by the Government that will allocate these funds to the development of the 'Sevan' National Park's own assets, so that the work is not carried out with the involvement of a third party, but rather the 'Sevan' National Park will acquire its own technical means under the supervision of the ministry, secure nearly a dozen permanent jobs, and carry out the cleanup work using its own resources.

It is planned to acquire tractors, trucks, chain saws, and excavators. The equipment will be used for the cleanup of the submerged areas along Lake Sevan, the dismantling of existing buildings and structures, and the transportation of construction waste.

The halted cleanup and dismantling work along the shoreline of Lake Sevan will resume in full swing this spring.
