Iran Releases Crew of South Korean Tanker Detained in Persian Gulf
The spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, Said Khatibzadeh, announced today that the crew of a South Korean tanker, detained last month in the Persian Gulf, has been released for humanitarian reasons and is now allowed to leave Iran. This was reported by the Iranian Mehr news agency.
“At the request of the South Korean government and with the support of Iran’s judicial authority, the crew of the South Korean tanker, which was arrested for allegedly violating environmental regulations in the Persian Gulf, has been released and can now depart from the Islamic Republic,” said the spokesperson.
