I Am Ready to Provide You Support on the Unacceptability of This Absurd Initiative: Hovhannisyan to Journalists

Another senseless initiative from the ruling party has been presented to us, aimed at journalistic sources. In particular, these individuals have decided that journalists do not have the right to refer to anonymous sources.

This was stated by former Minister of Justice and former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Arpine Hovhannisyan on her Facebook page. “Dear journalists, I am gladly ready to provide you with any support and information about the international legal grounds for the unacceptability of this absurd initiative. They do not even realize what they are getting into. For example, do they think they can change the law about the 'mass media'? Will they also change the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights? Our courts are obliged to implement those.” Additionally, she noted, “They have openly sold Artsakh; the sources are clear and known by name.”
