COVID-19 Deaths in Georgia Continue to Rise, Surpassing 3,200

As of February 2, Georgia has recorded 858 new cases of coronavirus infection. This information was reported by the stopcov.ge website established by the Georgian government.

The total number of cases in the country has reached 259,209, which is nearly 100,000 more than in Armenia. As of February 2, the number of coronavirus cases in Armenia stands at 167,231.

In total, 250,289 people have recovered from the virus in Georgia. Unfortunately, another 14 people have died from the infection, bringing the total death toll to 3,208.

In Armenia, five deaths were recorded in the last day, increasing the total to 3,089.

The Deputy Director of the National Center for Disease Control of Georgia, Paata Imnadze, addressed the timeline for lifting restrictions. According to Imnadze, the “curfew” will be abolished last of all. He emphasized that one scale weighs health and life, while the other weighs the Georgian way of life.
