Akhthala-Nexots Road Segment Temporarily Closed

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has announced that certain roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to traverse. The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks with trailers, but open for all other vehicles. The roads leading from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and to the Kari Lake are closed.

In the Gegharkunik and Syunik regions, black ice is present on some roads. From February 2nd to 3rd, between 14:00 and 18:00, the Akhthala-Nexots section of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Georgian border (M-6) interstate road will be closed due to rock blasting and landslide prevention works. There will be no detour route established for traffic.
