VIDEO: Young Man Tasked with Distributing Drugs Across Various Locations. Police Discovery

The police continue their consistent fight against the illegal circulation and use of drugs. This was reported by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

The latest incident was uncovered by officers from the Karen Demirchyan Metro Protection Division of the Yerevan City Police. On January 27, detectives apprehended a 26-year-old resident of Sari Tagh on suspicion of possessing and using drugs in the foyer of the 'Barekamutyun' metro station.

From the polyethylene bag found in the suspect's possession, 11 packages were discovered, 7 of which contained white crystalline substances, 2 contained a brown substance with a pungent odor, and the remaining 2 packages contained a peculiar-smelling, greenish dried, crushed plant material.

According to the detainee, the items found are drugs. An unidentified person had instructed him to place the packages at various addresses for the purpose of selling them in exchange for money. A forensic chemical examination has been appointed.

Investigations are ongoing to clarify the circumstances.
