Hayk Marutyan Not Recognized; Spokesperson Confirms Incident

The spokesperson for the Mayor of Yerevan, Hakob Karapetyan, has clarified an incident involving Mayor Hayk Marutyan. He wrote on his Facebook page: "In light of the misinformation spreading on certain Telegram channels, I find it necessary to provide the following clarification. Last week and on the weekend, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan was cleaning the areas adjacent to his house covered in snow with his son.

On Sunday afternoon, a clearly intoxicated passerby exhibited disorderly conduct. In response, the mayor admonished him and requested that the citizen observe standards of decorum in public spaces. Later, relatives of the inebriated individual met with Mayor Marutyan, stating that their son, being intoxicated, did not recognize the mayor and behaved inappropriately, and they apologized for the incident. Hayk Marutyan considers the matter resolved."
