Georgia Resumes Regular Flights from Today
As of today, February 1st, Georgia has resumed regular flights. This was announced on January 22 by Georgia's Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava.
“From February 1st, we will lift the restrictions on regular flights. This means that all airlines operating in Georgia so far, as well as new airlines wishing to enter Georgia, will be able to plan and conduct temporary flights with certain frequency,” Turnava stated, adding that all of this will occur while adhering to all medical protocols and safety regulations.
It is worth recalling that due to the pandemic, Georgia closed its borders to foreign citizens and prohibited air travel in all directions from March 21, 2020. Georgia began gradually resuming regular flights in August 2020. During the suspension of regular flights, charter flights to Istanbul, Athens, Warsaw, Kyiv, Minsk, and Tel Aviv were conducted.
