Erdogan Decides to Change Turkey's Constitution
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced the need to draft a new constitution. This information was reported by Daily Sabah.
“The time has come to discuss the draft of a new constitution,” Erdogan said, emphasizing that the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) have agreed on the plan.
He noted that a detailed package of reforms related to the justice and economy sectors will be presented soon. It is worth mentioning that as a result of the last constitutional amendments in 2017, Turkey transitioned to a presidential governance system.
