VIDEO: Man Attempts to Cut Payment Terminal with Electric Metal Saw
On January 25, around 6 PM, officers from the Bazum police department noticed two young men attempting to steal from a payment terminal on Students' Street in Vanadzor while conducting patrol services. Upon seeing the police, they tried to flee; however, the law enforcement officers pursued them, apprehending one of the suspects and bringing him to the Bazum police department.
The detained individual was identified as a 30-year-old resident of Hambardzumyan Street in Vanadzor. According to him, he had attempted to cut the payment terminal with an electric metal saw to steal cash from the cash box. An inspection of the scene revealed the electric metal saw.
Subsequent investigations led the detectives to learn that the other suspect, a 23-year-old resident of Tcherkasi Street in Vanadzor, had also fled. As a result of explanatory work, he presented himself at the Bazum police department around 10 PM on January 25 and confessed to the crime. It turned out that, in addition to this attempted theft, they had also committed 16 other thefts and 2 robberies in Vanadzor. The circumstances are being investigated. The inquiry is ongoing.
