Biden Calls for Navalny's Release in Conversation with Putin
The White House has announced that U.S. President Joe Biden called for the release of Alexei Navalny during a conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
"Yes, as our team has publicly stated in recent weeks," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said during a press briefing on Friday in response to a question about whether the President had requested Navalny's release. She declined to provide further details about the earlier conversation between the two leaders or about Putin's response.
