The administration of Tunisian President Kais Saied has provided details regarding an incident related to a letter received at the Carthage Palace that contained a suspicious substance. According to TASS, an official statement was published on their Facebook page.

The release mentions that on January 25, around 5:00 PM, a special postal delivery was sent to the presidential residence addressed to the President of the Republic. The coordinates of the sender were missing. Nadya Akasha, the chief of staff, opened the letter personally, which contained no written communication. Following this, she fainted, nearly losing her vision due to a severe headache episode. A nearby staff member of the president's administration experienced similar symptoms, albeit expressed more mildly.

The chief of staff has been transferred to a military hospital for necessary tests and to ascertain the reasons behind her sudden health deterioration.

The presidential administration did not immediately publicize the incident to avoid causing undue public alarm. The President of the Republic is reported to be in good health and has not been affected by the incident, it is emphasized in the announcement.
