Panic Within ‘My Step’ Faction: Hakob Simidyan Not Seen as Leader

According to reports, there is a sense of panic within the ‘My Step’ faction of the National Assembly these days. The issue arises from the departure of faction leader Lilit Makunts’ visit to the US ambassador, which has caused concern among many, as it suggests impending chaos within the faction.

Supporters of the faction believe that Makunts has been able to smooth out situations over the years, while faction secretary Hakob Simidyan tends to exacerbate any clarification into ‘razborka’ (a term implying bickering or squabbles). Now, there are discussions within the faction that if Simidyan were to take the lead, the internal situation would escalate daily, with confrontations becoming unavoidable.

It is worth mentioning that when Vardan Atabekyan left the faction, Simidyan had personally gone to his home in the nighttime with several vehicles for a ‘razborka’, and according to those in ‘My Step’, there will be many such prospects in the near future if his powers are expanded. Members of the faction hope that at the very least, Simidyan will not be appointed as faction leader.

Arpi Davoyan is also viewed as a contentious figure, having demonstrated personal vendettas within the faction, thus making her another unacceptable candidate among the current team.

This report comes from the ‘Zhoghovurd’ daily.
