Some Schools Conduct Classes in 8-13°C Conditions; Administrative Proceedings Initiated

The Eastern Territorial Center of the Republic of Armenia's Health and Labor Inspectorate has initiated administrative proceedings in several schools of Gegharkunik and Kotayk provinces due to violations of the required air temperature regime, as well as illegal use of stove heating in the institutions.

During the administrative proceedings, it was revealed that some schools are still using stove heating, and the buildings do not maintain the prescribed air temperature, with classes being held even in conditions as low as 8-13°C.

The proceedings were initiated based on information provided by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.

“It should be recalled that at the start of the academic year, the Health and Labor Inspectorate carried out extensive awareness-raising initiatives, urging the heads of educational institutions to strictly adhere to the requirements set forth in the Minister of Health's order 12-N. The administrative proceedings will continue, and additional information will be provided regarding the final results after their conclusion,” the inspectorate noted.
