Return of Azerbaijani Refugees to Areas Under Our Control is Excluded: Poghosyan
There is absolutely no such issue, and the authorities of Artsakh have repeatedly refuted all rumors regarding this matter. Responding to circulating reports on social media that it is possible for Azerbaijani refugees to return to neighborhoods near Stepanakert, Vahram Poghosyan, head of the information department of the Artsakh Republic Presidential Administration, stated to 168.am:
“However, there is a feeling that not only the Azerbaijani side but also some internal destructive forces are systematically trying to spread panic among the public. We also do not rule out that such absurd information flows are directed by Azerbaijani special services. In any case, this disinformation issue is under the attention of the authorities, and the National Security Service is working on this direction,” said Poghosyan.
According to V. Poghosyan, a clear answer has already been given to this question at the presidential level. “Artsakh can never be part of Azerbaijan. We will continue to build our independent statehood with the security guarantees of the Russian peacekeeping forces. The return of Azerbaijani refugees to areas under our control is simply excluded, and such an issue has not even been discussed with us. We fully understand the consequences of that, and it is out of the question that the authorities of Artsakh would agree to such a thing. I repeat, there is no such issue on the agenda, nor can there be, and those who deliberately disseminate disinformation are simply engaged in criminal activities,” said the head of the information department of the Artsakh Presidential Administration.
