Photos: Azerbaijani Soldiers Buried in a 'Swamp', Parents Protest at Cemetery

For several days, relatives of soldiers killed in the Artsakh war have been holding various protests in Azerbaijan. The family members of 17 soldiers are voicing their concerns about the burial of their loved ones in an abandoned area of the Garadag district on the outskirts of Baku. The relatives demand that the soldiers be re-buried in the 'Martyrs' Park.'

Parents have announced that the 17 soldiers from the Yasamal and Nasimi districts of Baku were buried without the consent of their families along the roadside in the Garadag district. Yesterday, relatives held a protest at the cemetery. They insist that the area is swampy and the graves are flooded with water.

The relatives of the deceased removed the gravestones, revealing that the graves were indeed submerged. This has further angered the parents of the fallen soldiers, escalating the situation as relatives attempted to dismantle the graves. According to reports circulating in Azerbaijani social networks, participants of the protest have been sleeping at the cemetery and continue their demonstration.
