New Horizons for Armenia-France Cooperation
Today, a new classroom was inaugurated with ceremony at the Anatole France French School, attended by the Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan, Secretary of State at the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, and the Ambassador of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacôte.
The symbolic ribbon for the classroom opening was cut by the minister and the secretary of state, after which the guests toured the school, familiarizing themselves with the ongoing construction at the educational institution, as well as engaging in discussions with teachers, parents, and students.
Welcoming the participants of the event, Minister Vahram Dumanyan stated that the opening of this classroom is truly symbolic as a testament to the strengthening of Armenian-French friendship. He noted, “As an educational and cultural center, it will significantly contribute to the development of the French language in Armenia and enhance the effectiveness of teaching French in public schools. Considering the specifics of teaching French, I am confident that in the medium and long term, the educational institution will also implement new program initiatives aimed at developing the capabilities of teachers teaching French in Armenia's public schools. I am assured that our cooperation will be continuous and effective and will serve as a foundation for new initiatives benefiting the development of our two countries.”
Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State at the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, expressed his heartfelt impressions, stating, “I am deeply impressed and moved to witness the development of this school. Currently, it has 200-250 students, and it could reach up to 400-450 in the near future. This is a symbolic program between Armenia and France, as it is thanks to the Armenian government that we have this facility.”
