Henzel Mkoyan's Brother's Wife Commits Suicide by Jumping from Bridge
The wife of Henzel Mkoyan's brother, a former member of the Georgian Parliament from the "Georgian Dream" party, has reportedly committed suicide today. This news has been reported by jnews.ge.
Henzel Mkoyan believes that individuals who have been continuously pressuring his family are responsible for his sister-in-law's tragic decision to leap from a bridge. He suggests that several incidents prior to this have led to her depression.
"In 2019, Petrosyan's son hit my brother, Martuni. He suffered a concussion, and then on March 26, 2020, during a shooting incident, his son was imprisoned. They wouldn't let him speak to his son. Every day, she would come to me crying and saying, 'Let me hear my son's voice.' Then there was the assassination attempt on my brother when his car was blown up. Recently, they have been blaming us for everything. Companies are inspecting us, they are forcing us to pay taxes again. The hydroelectric power station has been closed down. They want to destroy our family," Henzel Mkoyan states.
The former Georgian MP mentions that all these events have taken a toll on his brother's wife, and the closure of the hydroelectric station has become a significant source of stress for her. "Of course, it was stressful for her, as they were constantly talking about it at home. Recently, my brother suggested that we sell everything and leave this place. He also took the assassination attempt on his husband very poorly, and the case concerning Armen (the deceased's son, who is accused of illegal use of a weapon) is still pending. When I ask why the child was arrested, they tell me it’s for balance," adds Mkoyan.
According to reports, on January 27, around 10:00 AM, the 50-year-old wife of Henzel Mkoyan's brother jumped from a pedestrian bridge connecting the former first military settlement of Akhalkalaki to the city.
It is worth noting that on March 26, 2020, at around 3:30 PM, a confrontation occurred in front of the "Gold" café, owned by Samvel Petrosyan, between Petrosyan and Henzel Mkoyan's relatives. The confrontation was short and ended quickly. Just as everyone seemed to have calmed down, a shooting occurred between former MP Henzel Mkoyan and former “National Movement” MP Samvel Petrosyan. As a result, former Georgian MP and current Akhalkalaki Sakrebulo member Samvel Petrosyan, as well as Henzel Mkoyan's nephew, were arrested. Both Samvel Petrosyan, who was accused of committing hooliganism with firearms, and Henzel Mkoyan's nephew were released on a bail of 20,000 lari, but the trial in this case has not concluded and no decision has yet been reached.
