Kurds Prepare to Fight Against Turkey Along Entire Syrian Border
In Syria, the Kurds are preparing to fight against Turkish forces along the entire length of the Turkish-Syrian border if Turkish authorities decide to launch offensive operations in the country. This was stated by Zeydan Al-Asi, co-chair of the Defense Administration of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, in an interview with the Kurdish agency ANHA, as reported by Lenta.
He commented on Ankara's potential plans to attack the city of Derik, located in northeastern Syria. “If Turkey undertakes an attack or similar operations in this part of the country, the war will not be limited to Derik; it will extend along the entire border, up to Afrin,” Al-Asi said.
In the interview, Al-Asi called on the international community, including Russia, to prevent a new Turkish military campaign in Syria. “If Syria and Russia allow the Kurdish Autonomous Administration to be overthrown, it will lead to serious consequences for all of Syria,” the agency quotes the Kurdish leader’s words.
