Explosion Occurs in Suburbs of Baku

An explosion occurred in a residential building in Baku, and there may be people trapped under the debris, according to the country's emergency situations ministry, as reported by RIA Novosti.

"An explosion took place in a residential building located in the town of Khirdalan in the Absheron region. Rescuers have managed to pull out two individuals—a woman and a child—from the rubble. Search and rescue operations are ongoing. It is presumed that there are still people under the debris. The causes of the explosion are being investigated," the ministry stated.

According to eyewitnesses cited by RIA Novosti, a fire broke out in the building following the explosion, and the shockwave shattered windows in the nearby high-rise buildings.
