Biden Allows Transgender Individuals to Serve in the U.S. Military

U.S. President Joe Biden has signed an executive order allowing transgender individuals to serve in the country's military, according to a statement from the White House reported by Interfax.

"President Biden is confident that gender identity should not be a barrier to military service," the announcement stated.

"Allowing all qualified Americans to serve their country in uniform is better for the military and better for our country, as diverse forces are more effective," the document noted.
