We Need Russian Troops: Tigran Urikhanyan
The authorities can be judged as good or bad based on one criterion: are people living well or poorly, stated Tigran Urikhanyan, a member of the National Assembly and president of the Alliance party, during a broadcast on H2 television.
“Now they will say that people were not living well before either, but I am one of those who advocate that there will be no return to the past,” Urikhanyan said, listing the problems that have arisen during the current government's rule.
“Has at least one of the promises been fulfilled or not? Starting from the fact that all who have oppressed and plundered the people will be punished, to the programs including a prosperous life and 'nyuvasyuk'. No. And finally, the historical disaster that occurred. All of these together should lead to a resignation; otherwise, the question will arise whether to resign or not,” Urikhanyan posed.
Responding to the remark that the government is down, and there’s no one to take it, the MP replied: “Clearly, Pashinyan has not lost power because during the Q&A session in the National Assembly, he stated, 'No, I have not lost it.' This question is artificially discussed by those who benefit from it so that the situation oscillates but not enough to create a breakthrough. When they ask, 'Who, if not this one or that one?' I respond: 'Whoever meets the criteria, whoever has proven they can.'”
According to Urikhanyan, people are in a very unique situation. “Even those who are not politicized or interested in politics are now searching themselves for someone to place their hopes in. The knife has not only reached the bone; it has even cut through the bone. People see what is happening, they see the dangers, and they see that the war has not ended.”
The MP stated that people will take to the streets to remove the authorities when they see an alternative. “Our party believes that there should be a unified command structure with imperative regulations, and Russian troops should guard the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. We need Russian troops, the military force with which no one will go to war—understandably for reasons,” he concluded.
