Former Turkish MP Claims "US President Joe Biden is Actually Kurdish and Immigrated from Yerevan"
"A Kurdish friend, with whom I spoke recently, said that while it's hard to believe this is serious, it's not difficult to guess what the purpose is: Someone has claimed that Biden's real name is Chimoje Bahattin Agha. He comes from a Kurdish family that immigrated from Yerevan and is of Biruki tribe origin," wrote Orhan Miroglu, a former MP from Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and a member of its Central Decision-Making Executive Council, presenting such a bizarre theory that the newly elected US President Joe Biden is actually Kurdish, as reported by ahvalnews.com.
Incredible claims about the ethnic origins of prominent individuals have been propagated in Turkey for years. Similar discussions have also emerged around Shakespeare, whose name's etymology was explained in Turkey as Sheikh Pir.
It is noteworthy that Biden has had longstanding relations with Kurdish groups. In 2003, he addressed the Kurdish parliament in Irbil, saying that "the mountains are not your only friends." On Wednesday, Kurdish MPs from Iraqi Kurdistan congratulated Biden on his assumption of the presidency.
