Vladimir Gasparyan Transferred to Hospital
The former chief of police of Armenia, Vladimir Gasparyan, has been transferred to a hospital. The information was reported by a source from Sputnik Armenia.
"He has been hospitalized in a pre-stroke condition. At the moment, his condition is good, but he will remain under medical supervision for a few days," said our interlocutor.
Vladimir Gasparyan will turn 63 in September. The lieutenant general previously served as the head of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, deputy minister of defense, and chief of police. He left law enforcement following the change of power.
Earlier, a criminal case was initiated against him on charges of abuse of official powers, forgery, and embezzlement of particularly large amounts. Also implicated in this case is the former commander of the police forces, Levon Yeranosyan.
