While Avinyan Tries to Conceal the Number of Missing Persons, the Russian Ministry of Defense Announces It: Mikael Minasian

In discussing Nikol's audacious statement regarding Shushi, we've all forgotten about another no less vulgar and equally important declaration made yesterday. In response to a question about the human casualties of the war, Tigran Avinyan ignored the question about the number of wounded, refused to disclose the number of missing persons, and stated that "the number of casualties will not exceed 4000." This approach is highly indicative. For Avinyan, the heroes who died for the Fatherland are merely "a number of casualties," and he has already decided that this "number" will not exceed 4000 (let us leave aside the integrity of his statements, for we know that the deceased and missing number far more). In the best traditions of totalitarian propaganda, Avinyan deliberately dehumanizes the question posed, reducing everything to the data of the statistics department - meaningless figures of economic decline or price hikes, the rise of 'milking rates,' or a decrease in production rates. For him, it is important to utter dry numbers, while ignoring the fact that this is 4000 people, 4000 bright young men, 4000 households plunged into mourning. 4000 Avinyans do not have names and surnames, do not have parents whom one should bow down to for giving their utmost to the Fatherland, do not have orphaned children who, more than ever, need care and attention.

Instead of addressing the issue of prisoners and using the National Assembly podium to attract international attention to the problem, the seated rogues who have become advocates and supporters of the enemy, sidestep the issue out of fear of the opposition. "Why didn't you speak about the prisoners before?" The 115 boys who are tortured every day in Baku's prisons are not a tragedy, but rather a threat to his power. The 5000 casualties are neither his fault nor a trump card for his opponents. The desensitization to casualties and the discussion of the current ruling elite's culpability have turned into a political struggle - the only tool left in the hands of Nikol's 'gang.' That is why they have begun to search for those whom it would be convenient to blame: in the case of prisoners, it is Russia, as another new Nikol-inspired lackey, Hovhannes Igitian, openly announced yesterday; regarding the dead, wounded, and missing, it’s the opposition; concerning the sold-out issue of Artsakh, it’s the former authorities. Everyone is guilty, except for Nikol. Everyone is guilty, except for his ruling servants. The guilty are those who mourn, those who suffer, those who have died, whose bodies remain unidentified in the freezer, those whose remains have not yet been recognized, and those who, in desperation, assaulted the Ministry of Defense gates. But above all, according to the Nikolite horde, the guilty are those who remember. Those who do not forget. Those who call for accountability, and those who carefully observe that their punishment must be as severe as possible.

PS: While Avinyan was trying to conceal the number of missing persons, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that there have been 2320 applications registered on the hotlines for missing persons in Artsakh.
