The Qarvachar Highway Must Be Reopened: Taguhi Tovmasyan
During a press briefing with journalists in the National Assembly, MP Taguhi Tovmasyan stated that while the documents welcome the unblocking, it is essential to stress that we must exit the blockade and also lift it for our neighboring country, Azerbaijan. However, Nagorno-Karabakh remains under blockade and must be unblocked.
According to the MP, this 'injustice' must be raised as a priority. She also announced that one of the critical issues in the post-war period is the reopening of the Qarvachar highway.
“Today, many people from Chambarak, Martuni, and Vardenis are working in Nagorno-Karabakh. Instead of the previous 80 km route, they are now reaching Nagorno-Karabakh by cutting through 300-400 km,” Tovmasyan said. She then suggested that Russian peacekeepers should guarantee the safety of those traveling to Nagorno-Karabakh.
