Taghuhy Tovmasyan's Information Does Not Reflect the Truth: Anti-Corruption Commission
The Anti-Corruption Commission has issued a statement today regarding certain remarks made in the National Assembly.
“During the meeting convened on January 22, 2021, for the selection of candidates for the Supreme Judicial Council, the Anti-Corruption Commission (hereinafter, the Commission) notes that National Assembly member Taghuhy Tovmasyan, while addressing candidate Davit Khachatryan, referred to the Commission and presented information attributed to it. Specifically, she stated, ‘(…) up to the point that the Anti-Corruption Commission has documented certain traces that negatively affect your rating.’
The Commission informs that such assessments are not reflected in the moral standing conclusion presented about the candidate, and the information published by National Assembly member Taghuhy Tovmasyan does not reflect the truth.
The Commission reiterates that according to the law on the Anti-Corruption Commission of the Republic of Armenia, the moral standing conclusions provided by the Commission are not subject to publication, and calls upon all officials who receive these conclusions by virtue of their position to strictly adhere to the requirements of Armenian legislation and to refrain from any actions that go beyond the boundaries of legality,” the statement reads.
