Azerbaijan Requests Legal Assistance from Russia in the Case of Mi-24 Helicopter Shot Down in Armenian Airspace

Baku has sent a request to Moscow for legal assistance regarding the case of the Russian Mi-24 helicopter that was shot down in Armenian airspace. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a statement from the press service of the Azerbaijan General Prosecutor's Office.

“Currently, intensive investigative operational measures are being conducted regarding the mentioned criminal case. … After the results of the request are obtained, a legal decision will be ensured in the above-mentioned criminal case,” the press service stated.

It is worth recalling that the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on November 9 that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces had shot down the Mi-24 military helicopter in Armenian airspace, outside the combat zone. As a result of the incident, two crew members were killed, and another sustained serious injuries. Baku admitted that the Russian helicopter was shot down by accident.
