Ara Aivazyan and Stef Blok Emphasize the Importance of Reviving the Nagorno-Karabakh Peace Process within the Framework of the OSCE Minsk Group

On January 21, Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Aivazyan held a video conversation with Stef Blok, the Foreign Minister of the Netherlands. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

The two interlocutors discussed a wide range of bilateral and multilateral agenda issues, emphasizing their readiness to take steps to expand and deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Minister Aivazyan expressed gratitude to his counterpart for the support and solidarity shown to the Armenian people in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and the Netherlands provided a detailed account of the post-war situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. Minister Aivazyan outlined the steps being taken to address the humanitarian crisis caused by Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh. The heads of the foreign ministries agreed on the necessity of uninterrupted involvement of international organizations in humanitarian matters.

Minister Aivazyan highlighted as a priority the humanitarian issues, particularly stressing the need to resolve the safe repatriation of prisoners of war and civilians held hostage.

Ministers Aivazyan and Blok emphasized the importance of reviving the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and the Netherlands also exchanged views on issues related to regional security and stability.
