Witnessing Another Low-Quality, Cheap Show Staged by the Authorities on Our Return from Shurnukh: Iveta Tonoyan

On our return from Shurnukh, we witnessed yet another low-quality, cheap show staged by the authorities. This was stated by Iveta Tonoyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party, in a post on her Facebook page, referring to the incident of blocking their way in Syunik.

“With my colleagues, we were again on a working visit to Syunik today. On our way back from Shurnukh, we witnessed yet another low-quality, cheap show staged by the authorities. The scenario was as follows: a group of residents from Sisian and nearby communities had blocked the road, allegedly to prevent Vazgen Manukyan from entering Syunik, when no such visit was planned. It was visibly clear that what transpired was merely a directed provocation, with several of our compatriots being used as actors in the authorities’ manipulations.

The local provincial officials had so hastily organized this staged performance ordered by the authorities that aside from a few provocateurs broadcasting live, no one else interfered with this presentation. And what do we get? Instead of addressing the thousands of existing problems, thinking about the tens of thousands of people who have been dispossessed and found themselves under the nose of the enemy, or ensuring the security of the country, those glued to their chairs are writhing day and night around one thought: how to obstruct the working, active people.

Meanwhile, we were in Shurnukh, which has now become a frontline area due to your negligence, to help the people and alleviate their concerns. And in conclusion, I appeal to all those standing behind this cheap staging… We successfully completed another working visit and were returning from Syunik, while your Prime Minister, who handed Artsakh to the enemy, could not even enter Syunik recently because the dignified residents of Syunik did not allow it. We went, and we will go to Syunik again in a few days. We will go because we have many tasks there due to the incompetence and foolishness of the authorities. We will go because we have nothing to fear in our homeland…”
