Who Supports the Formation of a Fact-Finding Committee: 'Hraparak'

The 'Bright Armenia' party has proposed the formation of a fact-finding committee to investigate the circumstances of the 44-day war, including the pre-war actions. The ruling 'My Step' coalition and the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) have rejected this proposal. The 'My Step' coalition believes that the time for such a committee is not yet right, while the RPA has indicated that they do not think this committee can operate effectively or reveal the shortcomings and oversights during the current administration.

In contrast, the proposal has received support from the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), and Aram Sargsyan's 'Republic' party. It is worth noting that, according to the proposal from the Bright Armenia party, the committee is to consist of 16 members, with each of the three factions in the National Assembly nominating four members, and the three other parties that did not pass the National Assembly elections (RPA, ARF, and the 'We' alliance) each presenting one representative. Additionally, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia will provide one representative.

Committee members will work voluntarily and in a public capacity, and meetings will be held in the National Assembly.
