Russian Soldiers Accompany Pilgrims from Armenia to Dadivank: Russian Ministry of Defense
The Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to monitor the implementation of the agreements reached regarding the cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. There have been no recorded violations of the ceasefire regime.
Russian peacekeepers are ensuring the safe return of refugees to the Nagorno-Karabakh region. Today, a total of 50,116 people have returned.
Russian engineering and demining groups are engaged in clearing the area of unexploded ordnance. To date, 802 buildings have been checked, over 210 kilometers of roads have been cleared, 566 hectares of land have been cleaned, and 23,759 explosive items have been discovered and destroyed.
In cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and with the involvement of representatives from both Armenian and Azerbaijani sides, efforts are ongoing in humanitarian response centers to search for and transfer the bodies of fallen servicemen. An additional group is continuing work in the Karvachar region to locate the bodies of those who have fallen.
On January 17, Russian soldiers escorted a group of pilgrims from Armenia to Dadivank. Vaccination of Russian servicemen against COVID-19 with the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine is ongoing. Today, 1,225 servicemen were vaccinated. The event is expected to be completed within the scheduled timeframe.
The implementation of peacekeeping tasks in the region will continue in accordance with previously accepted agreements.
