Pashinyan Questions Comparisons in COVID-19 Response Criticism

Has the government failed in its fight against COVID-19 or not? This question was raised in the parliament by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, addressing the Prime Minister.

“When criticisms arose in a timely manner claiming that the Armenian government had failed in its fight against COVID-19, specific examples from other countries were provided. At that time, we said that this story wouldn’t end in one day, one week, or one month. This means the cornerstone of those accusations was comparisons with other countries. You say we have failed in the fight against COVID-19, who are you comparing us to and what are you comparing?” said the Prime Minister, noting that we could also say humanity has failed in the fight against COVID-19.
