Pashinyan Deliberately Misleading Part of the Public

The head of the ‘Henaket’ analytical center NGO and former advisor to the President of Artsakh on security issues, Tigran Abrahamyan, made a post on his Facebook page addressing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statements regarding the return of prisoners of war.

Below is Tigran Abrahamyan's post:

“Pashinyan's main message regarding the issue of returning prisoners of war in the National Assembly was the following: ‘Why weren't you asking this during Serzh’s time?’ This is not an exaggeration; in the literal sense, Pashinyan was surprised and questioned the MP who asked him about this, stating he did not remember that previously, in the parliamentary platform, questions regarding prisoners of war had been raised. Moreover, the Prime Minister proudly stated that more prisoners had been returned to Armenia during his tenure than before.

It is natural that Pashinyan is aware of the scale and incomparability of the events that have occurred in this war and prior to it; however, he is deliberately misleading part of the public. I say ‘part’ because many have long stopped believing or trusting not only Pashinyan's words but also official information in general.

This self-confident declaration regarding the work done on prisoners of war comes from a person who has brought tragedy to Armenia and Artsakh, being responsible and guilty for the loss of 75% of Artsakh's territory, over 5,000 deaths, and the wounding, disappearance, and obtaining of prisoner of war status of thousands of others.

Pashinyan and his teammates love to repeat that the opposition's statements hinder the return of prisoners. However, none of them has articulated a reasonable argument on how they are hindering it; there is no justification, no basis, and overall, there is no coherent statement.”
