Body of Gurgen Vardanyan's Missing Son Found After Car Incident at Defense Ministry Gates

The body of Gurgen Vardanyan's missing son, Gor Vardanyan, has been found after he allegedly crashed his vehicle through the gates of the Ministry of Defense. This information was provided to Tert.am by Vardanyan's lawyer, Karen Stepanyan.

According to Stepanyan, Gor Vardanyan's funeral took place on Sunday. It is worth noting that Gor's name was included on the list of the deceased; however, his body had not been recovered until now. Gurgen Vardanyan had been actively searching for his son.

According to a statement from the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense, on January 10 at approximately 21:30, Vardanyan had crashed his personal vehicle, a VAZ 2107, into the gates of the Ministry of Defense's administrative complex, breaking through and entering the territory. He then crashed into the entrance doors of the administrative building with the vehicle and drove into the structure.

Vardanyan was arrested and later released. He has been charged under Article 327.6, Part 5 of the RA Criminal Code (illegal entry into a military unit or other specially protected military area), as well as Article 258, Part 4 (hooliganism committed with the use of a weapon or items used as weapons). In response to the charges, Vardanyan did not plead guilty and did not provide testimony.
