Roads in Abovyan City Impassable, Vehicles Accumulated in the Sisian ‘Zanger’ Section

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed roads across the territory of Armenia. The roads from the ‘Amberd’ high-altitude meteorological station toward the Amberd Fortress and Lake K’ari are closed in the Aragatsotn Province.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed to all vehicles. The road from Noyemberyan to Jujuvan in the Tavush Province and the Dilijan bends are closed to freight transport.

The segment of the M-2 highway from kilometer 164 towards ‘Zanger’ and the roads of Abovyan city in Kotayk Province are difficult to navigate. Between kilometers 13-27 on the Yerevan-Sevan highway and on all roads in Gegharkunik Province, as well as in Sisian in the Syunik Province, in the section known as ‘Zanger’, there is black ice present.

Snow is also reported in the provinces of Ararat, Syunik, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik, Tavush, Lori, and Shirak, particularly in the Saravan-‘Zanger’ section, where black ice makes passage difficult.
