Proposal to Eliminate 'Red Lines' in 10 Administrative Districts of Yerevan Unchanged

The National Assembly of Armenia discussed the proposed law put forward by members of the 'My Step' faction, Sisak Gabrielyan and Arusyak Julhakyan, which aims to eliminate 'red lines' in 10 of Yerevan's 12 administrative districts.

Gabrielyan noted that the proposal had not undergone any substantive changes from the first to the second reading. 'With this draft law, the red lines will be lifted in 10 administrative districts, and from now on, the Yerevan municipality will no longer be able to fine citizens based on two photographs. After the amendment, red lines will only exist in the Central district and some areas of the Arabkir district, and citizens will only be fined if there is a 15-minute video confirming the violation,' Gabrielyan stated.

Under the current regulations, red lines exist in all administrative districts of Yerevan, and citizens are fined in cases of violations when two photographs are available.
