Azerbaijanis Killed Captured 44-Year-Old Man Days Ago and Buried Him in Hadrut

On January 18, a 44-year-old man from Hadrut, who was discovered dead, had been captured about a month earlier. He was the son of Sasha Karakhanian, also from Hadrut, who had returned from captivity along with 44 others approximately a month prior.

Sasha Karakhanian's grandson, Vrej Karakhanian, told NEWS.am that his uncle's body was found accidentally by search teams in Hadrut. Arsen Karakhanian was killed and buried in one of the villages around Hadrut. “They had passed through the same area before, and nothing was found. This time they noticed that the pit was different, excavated it, and found the body. He had been dead for several days, and there were bruises on his body,” he stated.

Arsen Karakhanian's family learned on January 6 that he was a captive when Azerbaijanis began circulating his video on social media. Sasha Karakhanian from Hadrut had been taken captive from his home in October. He returned to his homeland, along with 44 others, about a month ago. The family was unaware of Arsen's situation, suspecting he was a captive until they saw the video circulating online, confirming he had indeed been captured.
