Arthur Davtyan Has Not Confessed There Are Sufficient Grounds for Criminal Prosecution Against Nikol Pashinyan

The adviser to the Attorney General of Armenia, Gor Abrahamyan, calls for refraining from publishing gossip-style information. "Today, the 'Fact' newspaper published an article about the existence of sufficient grounds for initiating a criminal case regarding state treason and carrying out criminal prosecution against the Prime Minister, referring to 'their information' without citing any sources. It alleged that the Attorney General allegedly expressed himself in a narrow personal environment. It is perhaps unnecessary to say that the circumstances mentioned in the publication are entirely fabricated.

Current criminal proceedings are not subjects for discussion in a narrow personal environment. If there are received information, facts, or reports, appropriate procedural actions are taken. The Prosecutor's Office forms and expresses its positions based on the outcomes of relevant procedural decisions or through the implementation of its functions regarding the verification of their legality, not on the level of informal conversations held in personal environments.

Once again, I urge my colleagues to refrain from publishing such gossip-style information, especially by distorting the meaning and objectives of the genre of journalism," wrote Abrahamyan on his Facebook page.

The 'Fact' newspaper reported that according to its information, Attorney General Arthur Davtyan recently confessed in a narrow personal environment regarding the events unfolding around him. In particular, according to the newspaper's source, he indicated that the reports of state treason contain sufficient grounds for initiating a criminal case and starting criminal prosecution against Nikol Pashinyan.
