Traffic Restrictions in Armenia: 340 Trucks Stuck on Russian Side of Lars

There are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia. According to the information provided to Armenpress by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and to the Kají Lake are closed in the Aragatsotn region.

The M-6 interstate road segment from the Hagpat intersection to the Neghots area will be closed on January 15 from 13:30 to 17:00 due to blasting operations. The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks. In the section known as Saravan-Zanger, snow is falling in the cities of Martuni and Chambarak in the Gegharkunik region.

According to information received by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Federation's Emergency Ministry in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles due to the risk of avalanches, and there are 340 trucks stuck on the Russian side.

According to information received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the restriction on the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. The ban does not apply to freight transport. The Ministry of Emergency Situations advises drivers to use winter tires exclusively.
