Search Operations for Bodies in Artsakh Were Not Conducted Today, Suspected Link to Aliyev's Visit to Shushi
The State Emergency Service of Artsakh was not allowed to continue search operations in the territories of Jabrail, Fizuli, Hadrut, and the upper part of Askeran today. This was stated by Hunan Tadevosyan, head of the information and public relations department of the Artsakh state emergency service in an interview with NEWS.am.
“This morning, we were told that search operations cannot continue, but no reasons were specified. However, we suspect that this is connected to the Aliyev family's visit to Shushi,” he said.
The Artsakh Emergency Service is prepared to continue search operations tomorrow, but it is still unclear whether permission will be granted. According to Tadevosyan, clarity on this matter will come in the morning.
It is noteworthy that at the request of the Azerbaijani side, search operations were also halted the day before. As of January 14, the number of identified fallen servicemen and civilians stands at 1230.
