Gegharkunik Governor Meets with Directors of Medical Institutions in the Region

Gegharkunik Governor Gnel Sanosyan held a working meeting today with the directors of medical institutions under regional jurisdiction. Those present honored the memory of the fallen heroes of the Artsakh war with a minute of silence.

In a post on his Facebook page, the governor noted, “Before addressing the topics under discussion, I congratulated the participants on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas, wishing them success in their work and personal lives. The work of a doctor has never been calm, but the year 2020 has been particularly challenging, and there is no other sector that has been as burdened as the healthcare sector. I expressed my gratitude to everyone for working together during that time and representing the region with honor. We have quite good indicators in this regard, and not only have we managed to perform our assigned tasks with dignity in the region, but we have also provided significant support to our partners, the capital, and Artsakh, which is a result of our joint efforts.

I extended special thanks to the directors of the Vardenis and Martuni hospitals, to healthcare workers, and to the staff providing services for their extensive activities throughout the Artsakh war and for carrying out the tasks assigned with honor.

Following that, I spoke about various work-related issues that specifically pertained to increasing the effectiveness of cooperation between the region's healthcare institutions, streamlining documentation, and ensuring consistent actions in the framework of measures against the Coronavirus, as well as addressing problems arising in the forensic medicine sector and several issues raised by the directors.

Discussing the accurate collection of data regarding soldiers who were killed, missing, or wounded during the Artsakh war in the fall of 2020 from different communities in Gegharkunik, I instructed to display high human and professional responsibility towards the wounded servicemen and their family members.”
