Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Turkey Plan Joint Military Exercises

On January 15, the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Zakir Hasanov, met with the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Bilal Hai, reports Minval.az.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized that military ties between the countries align with their mutual interests. The discussions included the potential for joint military exercises involving various troops, including special operation units from the Azerbaijani army and the armed forces of Pakistan and Turkey, as well as personnel exchanges and experience sharing on several other issues.

Hai also highlighted the existing potential for military cooperation between the two countries, adding that Pakistani experts are ready to participate in the process of demining territories in Nagorno-Karabakh that have come under Azerbaijani control.

The meeting also included exchanges of thoughts on military, military-technical, and military-educational cooperation between the two countries. It was underscored that the military cooperation is based on friendly and fraternal relations and is mutually beneficial for both sides.
