Artsakh Parliament President Receives Newly Appointed Foreign Minister
Today, the President of the National Assembly, Artur Tovmasyan, met with the newly appointed Foreign Minister David Babayan, as well as the Deputy Foreign Ministers and the head of the ministry's staff.
Artur Tovmasyan congratulated David Babayan on his appointment to this responsible position and wished him fruitful work. "In light of new realities, the direction and scope of the foreign policy agency's work have changed," said the parliamentary leader, expressing the National Assembly's support for the foreign affairs agency in addressing challenges.
In this context, the head of the country's legislative body highlighted two important issues: the security of the people and the realization of the right to self-determination. Artur Tovmasyan emphasized the importance of deepening ties with Armenia's Foreign Ministry and increasing efforts in the search for missing persons.
In turn, Artsakh's Foreign Minister David Babayan highlighted the significance of such meetings, stressing the need to be aware of the viewpoints of all parliamentary forces. He noted that the ministry has a good team and is ready to face the existing challenges.
Both sides emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, which allows for overcoming numerous political obstacles.
The meeting was also attended by National Assembly Vice President Gagik Bagunts and the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, Vahram Balayan.
