Prices of 17 Products Increased in Stepanakert, 5 Decreased
According to the specialists of the State Commission for Regulating Public Services and Economic Competition, as a result of monitoring 43 popular consumer goods at 20 retail outlets in the city of Stepanakert on January 11, 2021, compared to the previous monitoring (January 4, 2021), changes in average prices were recorded for 17 products: 12 experienced price increases while 5 saw reductions.
Specifically, the average price increases were recorded for the following items: onions (1 kg) by 50 drams (25%), cottage cheese (100g) by 11 drams (6.0%), milk (1L) by 19 drams (5.6%), medical gloves (pair) by 3 drams (5%), cucumbers (1 kg) by 50 drams (5%), sour cream (200g) by 11 drams (4.5%), yogurt (500g) by 10 drams (4.1%), lentils (1 kg) by 26 drams (4.5%), sugar (1 kg) by 4 drams (1.0%), cheese “Chanakh” (1 kg) by 21 drams (1%), tea (100g) by 4 drams (0.5%), and flour (1 kg) by 1 dram (0.3%).
Meanwhile, the average price reductions were noted for the following products: adamatus (1 kg) by 100 drams (12.5%), pasta (400g) by 5 drams (2.1%), long-grain white rice (1 kg) by 6 drams (1.2%), eggs (per unit) by 1 dram (1.2%), and butter (200g) by 9 drams (0.9%).
Major economic operators in the market that recorded price changes are noted during price increases in the dairy sector (milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt), and in the case of price decreases, in the markets for “adamatus” and “chicken eggs.”
To clarify the justification for these pricing policy changes, the commission is conducting relevant studies.
