Mher Grigoryan to Lead Working Group with Azerbaijan and Russia on Behalf of Armenia
In a significant development aimed at unblocking all economic and transportation links in the region, Mher Grigoryan, Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister, will lead the working group on behalf of Armenia, as confirmed by the Deputy Prime Minister's assistant, Ani Babayan, to 24News.
“It is still unclear who else will be involved in the working group; it will take some time to gain a clearer understanding,” added Grigoryan's assistant.
Recall that a joint statement was made following the trilateral meeting in Moscow between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia, President Vladimir Putin of Russia, and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan. The statement indicates that to unblock all economic and transportation links in the region, the parties support President Putin's proposal to establish a trilateral working group co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Republic of Armenia, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The working group is set to hold its first meeting before January 30, 2021.
