Armenia Faces Greater Danger Than Current Situation in Artsakh

Former Deputy Minister of Defense Artak Zakaryan wrote on his Facebook page that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has created a situation in which Armenia is now in greater danger than the current situation in Artsakh.

He specifically stated: "Nikol has created a situation in the country where Armenia is in greater danger than the current situation in Artsakh. The fact that he will no longer be able to speak about the future status and security of Artsakh became evident from yesterday's meeting in Moscow. Pashinyan has already inflicted maximum damage on Artsakh over the past three years. I can confidently say that even if our country's Prime Minister were a Bedouin of Sudanese descent born in Saudi Arabia and educated in Ankara, the condition of our country would be much better than it is under the esteemed Jijevant Nikol. Because a person with a bit of vision and perspective could have managed the situation in such a way that Armenia and Artsakh would not have had to meet the unconditional demands of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem with a large number of casualties, loss of armament, huge territorial concessions, and a deliberately failing war.

As a result, once again in history, Russia has saved Armenia and taken over the process of halting its destruction. Yesterday, in the statement signed by Nikol in Moscow, the Turkish-Azerbaijani interest is imperatively put forward, which is interpreted by Armenia as an opportunity for us to also gain access to Azerbaijan, Iran, or Russia via Nakhichevan and other routes.

This means that: 1. Gradually, the road from Yeraskh - Yeghegnadzor - Vayk - Sisian - Goris - Kapan - Meghri will lose its economic significance, and hence the socio-economic development prospects of the population living in these areas will also diminish. Nikol previously stated that the territories of the Republic of Armenia should develop uniformly, today he is doing the exact opposite. In a few years, many residents of Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions will simply leave Armenia or their settlements due to lack of basic employment. Is this what Armenia needs? Of course not, but for the Turks and Azerbaijanis – certainly yes!

Will Azerbaijanis and Turks come to live in Syunik and Vayots Dzor as they did before? Of course, they will come with business. They will turn this into a state-level cloaked program under the cover of “business, joint projects, neighborhood, and friendship.” Do we have a problem with national minorities? Of course not! Not to mention the fact that the Azerbaijani-Turkish tandem has used every opportunity in history to kill, dispossess, and exile the Armenian species. Don’t you believe it? Ask the diaspora, otherwise, according to Nikol’s plan, many people will soon join the ranks of the diaspora from Armenia as well.

2. Turkish-Azerbaijani capital will immediately be invested in the construction of the Middleawan-Meghri-Agarak-Jugha railway and automobile routes. Along the way, Turkish restaurants, campgrounds, gas stations, service points, hotels, etc., will be built. Parallel to these infrastructures, Azerbaijani settlements will also soon appear in the southern parts of Syunik. Will the Turks come to settle there? They will rush and gladly do so because geographically, economically, and in terms of ethnonationalism, that is what our two neighbors dream of.

3. Why does Azerbaijan want a direct land connection with Turkey through Nakhichevan? Because, firstly, it is the only mechanism to cut Armenia from friendly Iran. Secondly, it is also beneficial for the West, which aims to weaken Russia's strategic and security influence in the South Caucasus through Turkey. Therefore, this will later bring about new outbreaks of Russian-Turkish conflict in our country's territories. In return, the West will turn a blind eye to the next actions of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem regarding the annexation of more territories of Armenia and Artsakh.

Thirdly, are there naive dreamers in our country who think that soon Armenia will become a transit country and they will enrich themselves? Of course, there are! But that is just a dream because in Western Armenia, Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, and elsewhere, Armenians also lived under humiliating conditions, purportedly living well. Do we know what happened later? Of course, we have forgotten, because we have a cynical and nation-destroying Prime Minister like Nikol. Moreover, we are one of the rare nations that do not learn from their history.

4. By January 30, working groups led by the deputy prime ministers of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan must be formed to negotiate the formulation of the region's communicational and economic programs, as well as the issues of involving resources and mechanisms. These should be submitted to the leaders of the three countries for approval by March 1, 2021. Which capitulated deputy prime minister or which Soros-appointed cadre of Nikol would you trust with this fateful process for our nation, especially since it will take place in the disdainful and coercive negotiating atmosphere of the Azerbaijani side?

Nikol has not yet been able to fulfill the mandatory requirement for the exchange of prisoners signed on November 9, but he has quietly handed over the territories acquired by blood. Do you think that same Nikol will be able to withstand new trials and the harsh realities of the region? For the sake of prolonging his miserable power, he is willing to commit any act against the interests of the state and the homeland. Do not doubt this, if you have not already been convinced.
